Hear the true history of the Indian residential schools from the survivors in a storytelling session. Sitting around a fire in an authentic constructed Secwepemc Pit House having thoughtful and uncomfortable discussions with these brave survivors will shed light on the Indian Residential school system fostering understanding and empathy.

Insurance: Medical Insurance is mandatory. Cancellation and trip interruption insurance is optional. Premiums depend on your age, the length of time away and the cost of your tour and insurance will be discussed and quoted at the time of booking.
Payment Schedule: Tour Deposit: $300 per person

Cancellation Policy: In the event that you have to cancel, you must notify McPhail Travel immediately in writing. The following scale of charges will apply according to the date that notice is received. Airfare penalties may differ and will be discussed at the

Itinerary
El Dorado Hotel and Resort
Arrive at the Kl?awna? (Kelowna) Airport. You will be picked up and transported to the El Dorado Hotel. Dinner with the group will allow us to dine as a family, followed by an Indigenous Sharing Circle.

After Breakfast at the hotel, guests journey by bus to Tk’emlups (Kamloops).
Lunch will be at Kekuli Cafe, where passion for Indigenous flavours meets casual culinary innovations.
In the afternoon, we'll visit the Kamloops Indian Residential School for a tour. Guests will hear the history of this establishment and feel the impact this school had on communities and families for generations to come.
In the late afternoon, we continue our journey to Quaaout Lodge and Resort, where we will see the beautiful architecture built for the people of the Little Shuswap Indian band who own it. Enjoy an indigenous inspired dinner followed by an experience in a traditional winter pit home, hearing stories and legends of this special area.
Following a day of travel and Indigenous culture, we arrive at the South Thompson Inn for the night.

Enjoy breakfast on the shores of the South Thompson River, then it’s off to the small, welcoming community of Douglas Lake and the Upper Nicola Indian Band. Learn about the history of their people and their relationship to the land and the animals of this unique territory.

Enjoy lunch in the community of Merritt, followed by a journey to the Sylix Nation ending in Osoyoos. Check into the extraordinary Spirit Ridge Resort, where you will have some relaxing time to yourself before enjoying a delicious Four Chiefs Dinner while overlooking Osoyoos Lake, which lies both in the USA and Canada.

After Breakfast, take a walk on the same ancestral paths our Indigenous people have walked on since time immemorial. Smell the fresh air, resplendent wth sage; take in the scenery, feel the trees and immerse yourself in the history of this area.
Now it’s time to reward yourself with a deep dive into North America’s first indigenous owned winery. Step into the vineyards and the tasting room to sample award-winning wine made by the local indigenous people. Lunch time will be spent on the land overlooking the rolling hills and mountains of this area.
The journey takes us back to Kl?lawna? (Kelowna) but before we get there, guests will be engaged in a smudging ceremony to cleanse the soul and body.
We enjoy one last dinner together at the El Dorado Hotel and Resort, followed by a reflection circle where guests will share their insights and learnings from this spiritual journey.
