Tripoli is the largest city in northern Lebanon and the second-largest city in the country. Situated 85 kilometers (53 miles) north of the capital Beirut, Tripoli overlooks the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and it is the northernmost seaport in Lebanon. It holds offshore a string of four small islands, the only surviving islands of Lebanon. The Palm Islands were declared a protected area because of their status of haven for endangered loggerhead turtles (Chelona mydas), rare monk seals and migratory birds.
Even though the history of Tripoli dates back at least to the 14th century BCE, the city is famous for the largest Crusader fortress in Lebanon (the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles), and it is the second largest city (behind Cairo) in terms of Mamluk architectural heritage.
After our first meeting with Cassandra to discuss a trip to the UK, we knew she was the travel agent for us. She was knowledgable about the destination and listen to our desires for the holiday. She then planned for us a stress free wonderful vacation. From then one we have felt comfortable using her to book our vacations as she is very knowledgable in many areas and can provide you with ideas of where to go and what to see. It is also very nice that she contacts you when you get home to ask your opinion of your vacation. By doing this not only is she concerned about your needs but uses this information to ensure her future clients have great vacations as well. We would definitely recommend Cassandra to our friends and family.
